This photo was made on a family vacation trip in Luquillo, Puerto Rico last March just one week before the Covid-19 lockdown began. I often make sunrise and sunset photos, but rarely share them. This seems like a good time to reflect on the beauty and the simple pleasure I can find on a peaceful morning walk with a close friend in silence or in the quiet of purposeful chosen isolation. Though the image is one perhaps deserving a bad grade for being predictable and cliche', it does allow me to offer a type of gratitude for small moments of mindfulness and awareness fully engaged in the presence of life on earth.
